Hello,
My name is Brianne. I'm in Central Texas. Last year I became a Chicken Mom to 2 Blue Maran Roosters and 4 Blue Maran Hens. Weve had a wonderful first year with this group who back one year old back in March. We did sadly lose one of the Roosters during the winter (he was smaller than the rest, really sweet - we arent really sure what happened but the rest have been fine) Our remaining rooster i must say is honestly a bit of a jerk to humans but a wonderful rooster to his hens. We decided to incubate 18 of our hens eggs and this past Saturday 15 hatched. Our chickees are doing fabulous, we even have what I've learned (on here) might be two Splashes. Chicken Math is really strong in this house as my husband who just went out for more chick feed, came home with an Americauna chick!
I am a stay-at-home mom to 4 homeschooled kiddos. This was such a great learning experience for them. Our dream is to eventually have our own homestead.
