How old should my chicks be before I take the lamp off? They are currently inside the house.

How old to start introducing other foods?

What are some things to look out for? Already survived pasty butt!

We stopped the light at about 14 weeks - they need to fully feathered out before you remove it. I started with yogurt and other treats about 6 weeks. They really weren't all the interested until they got older though. Leg mites, pecking, listlessness are all things to keep and eye on.

Mine are 6 weeks and I have the lamp on for them at present... but it's raining and cold... should only get up to 66 today.
