Hello,
I've been posting for a while and just realized there is an 'Introduction" section (I feel dumb). But I figured now is a good time to introduce myself, since I now officially have chickens living in my back yard. I live in Washington DC with my husband and our 2 dogs and now 5 hens--1 Buff Orpington, 1 Barred Rock, 3 Austrolorps. After a year of planning, I'm so excited to finally be an official chicken keeper. The law here is very confused (of course, it's DC) and the last people who tried to actually get a permit got their chickens confiscated, so I am just trying to keep it on the down low. So far, so good. I'm hoping it continues that way. Thank you to everyone on the forum. Your experience and advice has been invaluable in helping me get this project off the ground.
