Hello there in chicken land

I'm Aaron, I have an Americana, two brown chickens and a rooster and an Indian runner duck. The hens are all from the spring and should be laying, but I think the Americana is laying in the yard somewhere because I haven't seen any of her eggs.
I'm from Michigan near Detroit.

You might try keeping your birds in the coop a little longer in the morning. So your hen may lay her egg before she is out free ranging. Or you could try following her, if she has a hidden nest I bet she goes there first.
