Hello,
We have had our girls for 4 years now, we started with 4 but we only two of our girls left. Two passed away a few months again, close in date to each other.
I would like to ask a question about our girls eggs now, as they have gotten older we only get a egg or two every few days. But when I go to use some in the last week the whites are very congealed, was wondering if anyone knows what could cause this.
Thanks in advance for any advice given 😊😊 Marg

It's normal for aging hens to slow down production, but the congealed whites are puzzling to me. The only time I've had anything close is when it's really frigid (hello, Iowa winters) and the eggs have gotten extremely cold. Don't know if that would apply in your case.

There are a lot of knowledgeable folks in this group, and I hope one of them offers better information.

In any case, welcome to BYC; we're happy to have you join us!
