Hello all from the middle east

It's so nice to be here :)
Our chickens enjoy the watermelon during the summer (our summer is like 45C, sometimes even 50C).

Hope to learn a lot from you all.
Thanks.

Welcome to BYC! So glad you could join us!

It is really hot today here as well, though it was cool the last few days. Weather is really crazy around here.

Best of luck with your flock!

so glad you have joined us.

Wow, your climate is really warm. I'm in USA and we thought 100+ F is hot.

How does your flock deal with that extreme heat? Ours get heat stressed in the 90's even with fan, shade and cold melons.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. We also raised chickens where summers were very hot (117-118 F or more) and our chickens loved watermelon as well; especially if it was frozen and cut into chunks for them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in keeping your flock cool.

Hello and welcome! Melon frozen or not is a good help to the flock in high temperatures. Good to have you join us!

Hello,

Thank you all, glad to be part of this lovely community.

Our summer has high level of humidity most of the times. It's only during August that the weather is too hot. Hopefully by October / November, everything will be good (our winter is only 12C at Maximum, the usual is 16 - 23 C).

We cut our melon for them in a bowl shape. The rooster will sit inside it instead of eating :D and usually his favorit place is inside the water bowl.

Welcome to BYC!

Here in Florida we deal with a lot of heat and humidity too. Melon is always a welcome treat as well as cucumbers and berries. Our girls also seem to enjoy having their run sprayed down a couple times a day (and of course all the shade they can find).

Good luck with your flock, it's nice to have you here!
