Hi! I have been following this site for awhile just never actually joined! And now that I have built more within my flock I decided to take the plunge and join! So much value in the threads, thank you so much! I have an assort. Of feathered friends:geese, turkeys, duck and chicken.

I look forward to being a part of this group!

I have a pair of white ones, lol. I think they are Embden. They just started laying and I would really like to hatch them. She lays and then walks away so not broody at all. I just got an incubator and thought I would test my luck with the chickens first before attempting the geese. Neither are very friendly which is sad for my oldest daughter. We had one goose before "Big Birdy" that would follow us like a dog and sit in your lap. Unfortunately she died 2 years ago. We had raise all our birds but for some reason these two just don't like to be by people. What else would you like to know?
 
Ohh, so sad that the newer geese aren't friendly! Did you handle them a lot when they were young? Or, maybe it's just their temperament. When I was at school, there were these geese on campus. I counted about 60 one day. They were relatively tame, and laid a nest on top of the science building, but if someone got too close they would sometimes hiss at you! Hopefully yours don't do that! Not sure why they didn't hiss at everyone all the time, maybe they had favorite people, or colors. I have noticed that my chickens absolutely despise certain colors, and go into attack mode if anyone is wearing them, so maybe it's the same with geese.
