(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have had chickens for almost a year now. We bought 4 acres last year, built a coop and hatched out 15 chickens. It has been a learning experience. I tell people that last year this time I could sum up the entirety of what I know about chickens in two word, "They're Tasty". Now.... well now I am well versed in a lot about chickens but am always willing to learn more.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
29 chickens right now. 28 by the end of the week, we are rehoming one of our young roos.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Mostly Silkies, a speckled sussex, a buff orpington, two Rhode Island Reds, a Rhode Island white, Two Barred Rocks, Two Easter Eggers, and some Egger mixes.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
My wife, the reason I have chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I work with computers, design web sites, play video games, and love playing board games.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I have been married for almost 3 years. We have 3 dogs, and a lot of chickens. I am a software developer and my wife prepares taxes. We just moved out to the county and started gardening and raising chickens on our 4 acre plot in Wisconsin.
