My name is Tom. I have cared for chickens for about 6 years. Most were bought at the local farm supply store but last year we successfully bread 6 chicks with Rhode Island Red daddy and Legerns, Reds, and Arucana mommas.
We currently have 10 adults (9 hens and 1 rooster) and six younger hens. They are a mix of leghorns, reds, arucanas, and buffs.
Along with caring for chicks, I am raising 7 children, I keep a small apple orchard, and a run of blueberries.
I am a former high school physics teacher who transitioned out of teaching and into healthcare.
I look forward to sharing experiences and learning from the expertise of others!

! I would never be able to keep up and you can't just throw scratch to keep them entertained! But it sounds like a fun way to grow up.
