My name is Emmet, I am 18 years old and I am bad at just introducing myself since I tend to ramble so I just copy and pasted the questions to answer.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Kind of, yes, I showed turkeys with 4H so I know a bit about poultry. We first got out birds on the 1st of August.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 7 bantam chicks: 2 blue silkies, 1 partridge silkie, 1 buff silkie, and 3 silver sebrights.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Silkie and sebright bantams
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I think I was trying to figure out why my turkey poult was continually opening his mouth wide and I incorrectly tried to diagnose him with Gape worm when he was just yawning because he was tired and the others wouldn't let him sleep. (My animals don't have to be hypocondriacs, I'm a hypocondriacs for them. I once panicked about a lump on my lambs neck that wasn't even there and tried to diagnose him with CL a highly contagious, incurable disease that requires the infected animals to be culled
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like 4H, reading, writing, drawing, playing water polo, and showing sheep.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 3 siblings: an older brother, a little sister and a little brother. I currently work at Chick-fil-A, my boss was surprised you could show and sell chickens at fair.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known about BYC for 2 years I think and now that I have chickens and too many questions to bother my friend with I decided I should join
