I have finally signed up after weeks of lurking in these forums.
So hello! I am new to chicken keeping in a way... I used to have chickens but at the time I was young and most of the work ended up towards my mother, 4 years later and now i've gotten a new batch of baby chicks and this time all the responsibilities are in my hands.
At the moment I only have 4 baby chicks, and can only have this much due to our neighborhood regulations, 3 of them are Salmon Faverolles from a local feed store and the other one is a Brahma from Rural King. They're all super cute!
Sadly I got them faster than I anticipated! I didn't even have a heating lamp yet so I had to use a weak room heater for the first night
However, i've finally got everything set up, I just need to get more bedding (They poop more than I realized!)
Other than that, I'm hoping they thrive and grow up well, and i'll mostly likely be lurking on here for the most part to absorb any useful information I can find.
(Also, I think i'm going to need help with one of my chicks, he/she is having vent problems... Should I post in Emergencies/Disease forum or the Raising Baby Chicks forum?)

. If you are referring to "pasty butt," issues- this thread is as good as any to ask advice.
Definitely post in our Emergency section for more help. Pasty butt usually happens if the get chilled, overheated and or stressed. They probably chilled without the heat lamp.
