Silkies are extremely difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age and sometimes not till they crow 'or lay eggs. The females generally make very good mamas, when they are feeling" broody'' meaning they will sit and hatch fertile eggs under them.

Hi! Yes we did as we got them from a local guy who was very up front with us. We are hoping to have 3 or 4 hens out of the bunch. Our kids have had a great time raising them and we are happy with whatever we get. We will return most of the roos once we know for sure.
