Hello

Bless you for taking in neglected chickens and giving them a good home! Congrats on your coop build, and I think it's cool that you are learning about medicinal teas and tinctures.

This is a great community of smart, experienced and nice people who will be more than happy to help you with your challenges and cheer your successes.

Welcome to BYC!
Thank you. Well, the run is together but the coop is another thing. I have learned enough so far by reading the forum that you cannot just put up four walls and call it a coop. I live in Kelso, WA so it is wet much of the year. I really need to think this through.

I am constantly amazed how often I can just go out my back door to what I once called a weed (Dandelion, Plantain, Oregon Grape, etc..) and use them for medicine. White Willow Bark has become my go to for headaches.

:welcome :frow I have been in the same boat as you're in. My MIL lived with us for years. She developed dementia in her latter years and was a handful. Good luck with everything and have some fun...
I am so sorry you had to watch her decline. I hate this disease! My MIL has been with us for just over a year. Since she lived across the road from us we were able to keep her in her home for about 4 years after she was diagnosed.

I appreciate the sentiment. Luck, I will need. I am sure I will have fun.
