(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I was around chickens when I was younger and would visit my grandfathers farm. That was many years ago now
My husband and I are basically newbies when it comes to chickens. We haven't got any chickens yet but are gathering info and will be looking to get them in march of this year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0 but are looking at getting 12-15
(3) What breeds do you have? none but are looking at getting Plymouth Rock and Australorp
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I am excited to get eggs and to learn about caring for the different breeds.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I love to cook, read, garden and crochet, my husband loves to garden.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband and I have been married for 20 years, we have 3 children ( youngest just turned 18), 9 grandchildren, 1 dog named Max and I am a counselor.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
My husband told me about BYC and he learned about it from a zoom meeting he attended about raising chickens as they recommended this site.
