2 barnevelder, 2 barred rock, 1 black sexlink, 1 golden sex link, 1 Sapphire gem, 1 Cochin, 1 silkie (rooster)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Fresh eggs that don't make me sick, insect control (I let them have free reign of the garden from November-March, plus our in the garden while I'm out there during the summer), pets for my kiddos, literacy buddy for my oldest.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, reading, painting, herbs
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Family if 5, no other pets, husband has a chronic illness and fresh eggs, meats, and veggies help him a ton. I am a small business owner and make herbal lotion bars and herbal salves.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community.
I've known about this community for a while and have come here to search the various threads for answers, but I joined because we are expanding our flock by incubating eggs and I have zero idea what I am doing.
