Im new here!! I have 24 chickens and 24 ducks and an Eastern Bronze Turkey named Henry. My husband wanted a Turkey. I was hestitant but got him anyway. I wouldn't trade him for the world. He has killed 3 cats that have invaded the pen to chase my ducks and chickens. I currently have Pekins, Blue, Chocolate, Black and Fawn Indian Runners, a Cayuga and a Khaki Campbell. I love my ducks!! Those little feet across my hardwood floor when their little.. ahhh love that sound. I have a variety of chickens; Barred Rock, Americanas, Easter Eggers, Astrope, Lavendar and Chocolate Orphingtons. I run a free range flock they can come and go during the day when we are home but they go up at night. I have had a flock for 2 years now. This flock is a year old. I had a dog from 1/2 mile away come and kill my first flock of chickens. Love my girls (hens) and my quackers. My flock lays eggs all year round. I have 8 pens with covered boxes or dog houses and two outdoor playhouses for kids with straw which is the ducks preference along with under my front proch and steps. Henry just keeps everyone in line and sizes up the UPS and FedEx drivers ...LOL
