In the Brooder
Hello, everyone! I'm excited to be a part of the BYC, and look forward to gaining some great knowledge from all of you!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens. We got our first chickens a week ago, and they're so cute!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have six chicks right now. We got them from Tractor Supply, and I think they are now about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks old. Some have more of their wing feathers than others, and one has started to get some tail feathers coming in.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have 2 ISA Browns, 2 Golden Comets, and 2 Smokey Pearls (I think these are hatchery bred exclusives, as their "breed" name has a TM after it.)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? After a week of having the chicks I can say my favorite part is the smile and light heart they give me while watching them play and just be chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? reading, scrapbooking, knitting
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm a wife and SAHM mom that is getting too close to being an empty nester.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
. I found BYC a few days ago from googling for information about raising chickens. I decided to join because the community is active, friendly, and loves talking about chickens!
