(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have owned chickens since I was 13, so almost a decade.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 4 hens, and they are a handful!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Hail is a hybrid layer. The other younger three are crosses with hybruds but unsure what with. McMuffin I think is a legbar, Vulcan is a light sussex. No clue what Expresso is.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them and accompanying them in the garden. Hail especailly is very curious and confident, and has been a good friend to me.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading scifi and drawing on occassion.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
The chickens live in my parents' garden, and I currently live with them. I am a masters student in Geology, which I hope will get me a large enough garden to move them into in the future
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been poking through forums unregistered infrequently for a few years. Thought it was probably time to join, you all seem so awesome and friendly!
