It is native to where I live. I found four skinny, tiny ones that could fit on my thumbnail. Originally, they were at a dried up pond. Once they are large enough, I will either release them, or keep them and breed them, as the pond on my property does not have any.

oh that's neat, I don't have a pond nearby but I find box turtles a lot, never keep them though.
