1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
6-7 years ago I adopted my first three chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
19! Chicken math is exponential!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Mille fleur duccle, banty frizzle, banty Cochin, Easter eggers, Welsummers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love watching the little community, and the interactions between the various ages and hierarchy
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I fly fish, camera trap, and love to hike and I’m also an avid birder- especially good at locating owls!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m married to a kind gentleman, going on 17 years together, I’m almost 43, I’m a graduate gemologist and jewelry store manager, I have a full sized Aussie and a mini Aussie, who are both wonderful with my flock! I live in central Oregon
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve lurked on byc ever since I got my first few chickens! I rarely ask for help, but I love my chickens and it’s time I reach out
