I am new to chickens!
I am a new chicken mom. We have 1 RIR, ! barred rock, 1 ameraucana. The golden girls Sophia, Rose, and Dorothy. They are too sweet.
I have other birds: a blue and gold macaw, a red lored amazon, a blue front amazon, 2 green rump parrotlets, a pair of greenwing macaws...
I have 3 daughters ages 17, 14, and 8. All 3 are great students and make me so PROUD!
I live in Central Texas out in the country and I am loving it since I grew up in the city.
We have 2 mini donkeys and a standard donkey. My youngest shows one of the minis and has done very well in our first venture into showing animals.
We have 4 dogs, one very spoiled inside cat and a bunch of barn cats.
I am a paramedic and have been one for almost 23 years. (Yes, I have many many "war" stories)
My hubby is the police chief in a very small town NE of Austin. It is quite a change from where we grew up, but I really love it.
I just ordered an incubator. I hope my hubby doesn't kill me!
I couldn't help myself after reading all the reviews about it. (Brinsea Mini Advance) 99 is a good deal! It sounds dumbproof too.
Now I gotta find me some hatching eggs as my girls don't have a rooster. My hubby would definitely kill me if we had an early riser rooster waking him up!
My daughters are fascinated by the thought of getting fertile eggs in the mail. I haven't told them I ordered the incubator. Gonna surprise them!
I love this site as I knew NOTHING about chickens when I got them last weekend. I spent all day Saturday making them a pen so my cats wouldn't get them.
Chicken talk is one of the most peaceful sounds ever. I sit out there and listen to them and relax. Simple pleasures are the best...
