Hello! I am a greatgrand mother that missed being able to eat eggs. I am sensitive to soy, so eating store bought eggs make me sick..to the point of throwing up! So in desperation, I decided to raise my own chickens. Then I could control what they ate.
So I purchased 6 RRR chicks, then bought 2 light brown leghorns, 4 true Americanas, and two Silkies..one white roo, and one partridge pullet. But I still wanted to have true araucanas. After trying for a year, I found a roo and 2 pullets! I also have 5 new Ameracanas.
The roo and one pullet are only 3 1/2 months, and the other pullet is 2 1/2 months. I can hardly wait for them to lay, so I can have baby araucanas! I am going to use my silkie pullet to set on the eggs.
I also raise orphaned squirrels, then release them when old enough, but they still think I am their mother..lol
I have 3 chihuahuas, and koi fish in an outdoor pond.
