I just got my silky chicks today from a local lady. I have never had chickens before, but always knew I would. We have various other pets, dogs, cats, parrot, and numerous box turtles. The chicks we got are just a few days old- small enough that i think if you tried you could fit them back in a egg shell.
The rest of our two legged family consists of 2 boys 12 + 14 and my husband who is in the navy. I have been reading through this site around the clock for the past couple of days, and untill 4 am this morning trying to prepare before I got the babies.
