so the chickens might be IN my backyard but they belong to my brother, but seeing as he pays them about as much attention as a passing cloud, I am the one taking most care of them.

There are 7 in the run,6 chicks at brothers house growing big enough to not slip through the wire(2 of which the buff orphington momma hatched out here), as well as 3 ducks and a turkey.

5 are RIR (1 roo, 'Mighty' and 4 hens), 1 Buff Orphington hen and another roo 'Bri'(I thought he was a hen when he was named) that I am thinking is a Black Sex-link

about me

I am a 26 year old animal lover who got too attached to my brothers chickens (so attached he spared Bri the dinner pot cause he didn't want me to lose my friend)

Most of the helpful hints and tips I have gotten has been from googling the topic and it bringing me here so I thought why not cut out the middle man and just join^^

If you are allowed to have roosters where you live, there is no urgent need to rehome them. You don't need roosters to have eggs. You only need them if you want 'fertilized" eggs.

Then you need enough hens, so they won't overbreed them and damage or injure them in doing so. A rooster can easy handle 8-10 hens, so you would need double that to keep both boys in line.

Or if you kept the buys in a bachelor coop away from hens, they would probably get along together.
