hello BYC this is my new member introduction..

I have been on the site before to view a few post when I got my first flock 1 year ago. I live in Clayton, Ca and currently have 5 hens and a rooster. The rooster was a rescue so I am not sure of his breed. I also have a polish, exotic, leghorn and 2 black australops. My exotic is currently broody and has a nest of about 10 eggs that are about 18days so we will be adding to the flock very soon!

Just a little info about my flock and look forward to reading and hearing some good advice for a new chicken owner.

I am very new to having backyard chickens. We adopted our mix-match flock from a feed store here in Jacksonville, FL back in March of this year. I had no idea how much fun and entertaining it is to have chickens.
 
thanks for all the hellos and welcomes, im actually in a dilemma with my new baby chicks, my broody hens clutch was actually 18 and 10 have hatched I still have 8 eggs and my hen seems to have abandoned the nest to tend to the chicks, I candled the eggs and thy do have chicks inside,

please help..

will my hen return to the nest and hatch the rest?

should I remove the unhatched eggs and incubate to hatch myself?

if I hatch myself can I return the chicks to the hen and have her care for them or will she reject them?

any advice is appreciated
