Hi there from Carlisle England. Been reading bits on here for a while for advice and ideas.
Only started with chickens a couple of months ago, got 4 hybred RIR / Sussex which have great pesonalities.
My first coop is an 8 x 4 shed with an 8 x 4 run but i'm making a new 9 x 5 coop but this time easy clean with 7 external egg boxes.
I've never seen an egg hatched or even a new chick so i decided to buy an incubater from ebay, £41 ($62) for a manual 60 egg one, and got 29 eggs ( was 30 but dropped one, grrrr ) , some light sussex, white leghorn, mixed silkie, araucana been in there a week. Probably need some help to sex them, seen the feather sexing but not sure if all breeds can do that and seen a few other ways but looks a lot harder than i originally thought, if i do it again i would get sex linked.
Looking forward to talking to you guys and reading the forum
