Yes, I'm new to chickens, but my wife grew up with them. We got 4 chicks in early February this year, and had them in our bathtub until it was warm enough to have them outside (which seemed like forever). I repurposed a three-sided shed that was on our property and turned it into a nice coop for the chickens.

We have 4 chickens. One Americana, One gold-laced Wyandotte, and two silver-laced Wyandottes.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We just moved into our new house last year, (Sept 2012) and haven't had a lot of time for some of the things we have planned. The chicken coop took quite a bit of time, so we had to put off the garden until next year. But we plan on growing a number of vegetables here, and we've already planted several fruit trees and edible berries. I like to homebrew when I have time, but as I work full time, go to school full time and have a 2 and 4 year old on my hands, that hobby doesn't get as much attention as I'd like to give it.
