Hello I am Jamie I live in Western North Carolina in the Smoky Mountains. Last summer my chicken adventure began with a lonely rooster. A friend had to move and left my husband his rooster. My hubs thought he needed a lady so he got a hen from a friend that raises chickens. She began to lay and had 12 eggs she was sitting on. One day close to the end she was eaten or who knows what but we have another friend that has a incubator who hatched 7 of the remaining eggs. 2 survived. Over the course of a year I have acquired 13 chickens 3 are Roos. And as cold as it is right now. I have 2 hens Laying one started thanksgiving day and has been laying daily since her sister started to lay about 1 week ago
