Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jennifer, and I live in east Texas. My husband and I just bought eight chicks and three ducklings, and are loving them!! They are so cute! I was raised with chickens and ducks, so I know some about caring for them, and I have been doing a lot of research. My husband also built a hen house for them outside in our very large goat pen. Of course, they are still inside with us for now because they are still pretty young. ;)

Anyway, I look forward learning from any advice you guys may have!

I'm glad you joined our "flock".

What breeds of chicks and ducklings did you get?

Thanks so much, everyone!!

Michael, we live in Marshall, TX. I was raised in DeBerry, TX, though. We are close to the Longview/Tyler area.

Wyandottes7, as for the breeds....not sure. lol I can post pics later. I know a few of the hens are going to be white, while a few look like they are turning brown. We do have one tiny, little guy who we are hoping may be a rooster, but we have no idea yet. hahaha He/she is gray with black stripes. As for the ducks, we have two dark ones (one black and one dark brown), and one that is yellow and black, which should be white and black when is fully grown. I'm guessing the ducks are a few weeks old. They are getting big but still only have their down feathers. :/

Yorkshire Coop....I will be sure to check that out! Thanks!
