Congratulations on getting your new baby chicks.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate You should have excellent layers with those breeds. Lovely to hear you are enjoying spending time with them and your son is too. Raising chicks is a great experience when you have children helping you. I love raising chicks in fact I have 17 new hatchers yesterday so I'm a happy bunny again now I can here cheeping and watch them.

Good luck with your chicks in the future and enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. Black Sex Links are my favorites. They are friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. You should get loads of eggs from those two girls. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Glad you could join our "flock"! Congratulations on your new baby chicks. You've picked out two very nice breeds. Both Black Sex-Links and Rhode Island Reds should be excellent layers for you with very good temperaments.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We'll be happy to help answer them as well as we can! Good luck with your chicks.

Question :
I live in the woods ( 1 1/2 acres ) at this time my mom and I spray the yard for ticks . It's bad here... you walk outside and you can " hear " ( as mom my says lol ) running thru the woods saying new blood!!!! What is the safest way to spray without chemical harming my chicks? They are not outside still in brooder . I have a son so you understand what I mean lol so far i heard Dr Bronner's castile soap peppermint , vinegar and water ..... ( mom can spray the vinegar cause ewwww I hate that smell lol ) any other ideas will be greatly appreciated.
