Hello everyone!

Our family is new to the whole raising chickens thing. There are several reasons we wanted to get into it and I've done a big of research and reading to prepare us. I'm hoping to "meet" other folks that can help us along the way. We currently have chicks that are a few weeks old and living very comfortably in our garage. There are a few finishing touches we need to make on the coop but they should be taken care of before we move the girls outside. I'm looking forward to hearing and learning from all of you.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Your opening sentence sounds like you might have some children. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your coop finished.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yes I have kiddos...three of them and they are already infatuated. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions along the way
