Hey there back yard chickens! My name is Anne, I'm in the Okanagan Valley B.C. I saved a little quail chick the other day who seemed dead on the sidewalk, but he's doing lovely now thanks to the advice I found on here. I've named him (might be a her I have no idea) Pip. Anyways, I'll keep snooping around here to make sure I take care of him/her the best I can, since birds are new to me.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. You might try putting "quail thread," in the search box. You may find quail folks to give you advice on how to raise him/her.

There is an old book you may be interested in if you can locate a copy : "Robert Quail' a wonderful true account of a lady who also found a lone baby quail and raised it as a house pet. Very quick, easy read, but great insight into the nature and personality of quails.
