hello, i have just started keeping quail probrably had them for about 2 months now, there currently in a rabbit hutch while a bigger setup is produced :). they were young when i first got them and were told they were all female (im unsure). one of them has started pecking the others and pulling feathers out and i dont know why... this lead me to BYC forum :). i was woundering what kind of behaviour this could be is it normal, is it mating, is it a domminance thing or is it that this one has social problems?

thank you for listening to me ramble on and thank you for byc :)

That kind of behaviour in chickens is usually a sign or boredom, protein shortage in their diet (if they eat the feathers) or just plain bullying. I'm not sure about Quail though, so I'd suggest pop in at the quail section and ask the members there:
