i have a 1 day old chick that i moved from the incubator to the brooder today.. seemed like she was just wobbly at first, after observing her in the brooder i noticed she is scooting on her belly. she is rubbing her joints on her legs raw, she is not standing up on her feet. i have dropper fed her water, i don't know if she's able to eat or drink on her own because she is laying on her belly. i wrapped gauss and bandaids around her joints where it is rubbing raw. but it just comes off and it seems like it is weighing her down.. please help

I once had a chick with one deformed leg.

Don't know if I did the right thing, but I firmly held it and bent the said leg up and down like it was supposed to go. I did that every few hours that day and the chick was good as new and grew up just fine.

Morning krbrutsche, I am unable to see your video at all. To post pics you need 10 posts to be able to add pictures to a post.

You can make her a chick sling so she is upright, here are some posts that people have tried.

There is even one that I can't find of a plastic container with cloth stretched over the top, holes cut for the chicks legs food and water elevated so it is within reach. Maybe a sling would help the chick till discover what is wrong.

May need vitamins, poultry nutri drench would be good. Can be given a drop in the mouth or it can be added to water. Could be a vitamin deficiency.

These r good ideas I will try a sling. She isn't eating so I am worried she will no make it:( she seems to be getting weaker. Maybe making the sling will at least make her more comfortable!

Hi Honey I cant see your video either… try the sling and the vitamins, if you haven't moved her out from the other chicks you may want to soon, they will bully and peck at her , maybe worse, I had one weaker little girl and they smothered her the other day :( let me know how she does :0)

Ok so i have put her in a sling and separated her from the others. she is very weak and will not open her eyes. I gave her some of the nutria drench today. Now getting a better look at her legs it seems like they are both broken at the joint. I have tried to splint them the best i can but i don't want to mess with her to much. I am hoping she will be able to heal in the sling. Thanks for the feed back!

I have changed the privacy settings hope this works. This was yesterday.
