Went out to check the girls a little while ago and found one of my Austrlorps dead under the roost.
Picked her up and saw that her entrails were hanging out about 2 feet, there was blood on the roost. There are no signs of any animal digging around or in the chicken pen. My pen is enclosed with two by four fencing, with an enclosed top. Last week one of the other Austrlorps died, No blood on her, no anything, she was fine, then an hour later she died. When I noticed something was wrong with her, she was laying down so I walked over to her and she did not get up, I picked her up, talked to her then set her back down, she kept her tail feathers down and would not stand up. I checked on her twice then went to get the kennel to put her in until I could figure out what was happening with her, when I got the kennel to her, she was dead. I have no clue. Does anyone have any ideas?
