Okay, so this is really awful. I put my chickies outside for a little while in a cage on the ground so they could peck at the dirt and bugs and such while we cleaned out their cages. Well I guess my husband accidentally got one of the baby's feet caught between the cage wire and the ground and it's pulled or broken it's toenail and it's just hanging there. There's not a whole lot of blood, but some. It acts hurt as it very well should. Is there anything I can do for it? Will it survive the trauma? I've isolated it with one little friend, so as the others can't trample it. How should I clean it up? Please someone respond soon. Thanks!

By the way, the chicks are about 4 or 5wks old. I'm not sure what kind it is since I just grabbed it cuz it was cute from the bin at tractor supply. thanks again

geez, upon closer inspection the toe beside the one that has the torn toenail appears to be broken, what an awful thing for this little baby.. I'm so mad at my husband even though it was an accident. I have given the little guy some rescue remedy..what do you do for a little tiny baby with a broken toe? It can still walk, but is limping badly.
