Hi, I bought a float waterer thinking it would refil like a float in a toilet or trough but it doesn’t unless the chickens are smart enough to continually peck it. Can anyone tell me if it’s faulty or is this how they work? It’s at the back right hand corner of the coup.

I can't really see the type in the dark.
However, I will tell you that some of these auto water cups, nipples, etc. require that a vacuum isn't created in the system. Air must be able to enter the system otherwise water won't flow.
