Well my Dell 4100 died after 8-9years. I bought an Emachine 18010-03 for $429 at Best Buy. Any comments or advice? I paid cash so no debt. My dau works for a call site and she said to take it back but I can't afford a more expensive unit. What have you got?

I've never owned one, but DH says emachines are junk.

Walmart has nice Toshiba laptops on sale right now. $348.

we have an emachine that is several years old..I have no complaints..however it may be a little slow for todays standards. And it doesn't have to perform too heavily..for the money it is o.k.

I have an HP laptop with all the bells and whistles from Best Buy for $400 last Feb. DH wanted to get it for me for our anniversary (Aug) but bought it way early because of the fantastic deal. You can find great sales - don't give up!

I have an e-machine that is about 4-5 years old and it still works great. It's getting a bit slow, but I use my Dell Inspiron Laptop all the time now. I would say for basic internet surfing and such it's a good comp for little money. It's a much better computer than a gateway that I paid like 4 times more for.

Everyone has their opinions though.

I've had my Toshiba laptop for 5 years and it is still going strong. I'm in the market for a new laptop only because this one is getting too old to deal with newer software.

I will be getting another Toshiba.

I tried to put a new harddrive in my dell but it had win me on it and the reinstallion wouldn't work with my printer. That and I couldn't get it to work right. I'm not a gamer so it was fine.

I have an emachine and it came with a 19" HP flatscreen monitor....I got it in a buy/swap/sell and it was practically brand spankin' new. Mine has been awesome and I have never had any issues with it so I am still happy....3 yrs. later....

We have an emachine, and it WAS pretty slow, so my hubby bought additional memory for it... and even with the extra $$ we spent on memory, it was STILL a lot less expensive than any of the other options out there, and now it runs great/reasonably fast.

Me and my Mom both got the HP G50-109 NR Notebooks at Staples for like $300 the day after Thanksgiving last year. So far mine has been sent in to be repaired 3 times!!!!!! Hers hasn't given her a minutes trouble. I guess I just got a lemon, but when it is working, I LOVE IT!!! It runs Windows Vista Home Premium and I LOVE it too! Get you a decent laptop and you will not know how you ever lived without it.
