I try to wait until day 10 but I usually end up checking them day 7. Then again on day 10 when I mark the possibly bad ones. Then day 12 when I throw away any that are definitely looking bad. By day 14 I usually end up candling daily cause I can't resist until day 18 when I finally get to stop turning them and the really difficult waiting begins.
If you aren't sure just mark them and check in a couple days. If they really do have blood rings they'll get worse until it's just a swirly cloudy mess with a very obvious ring.
