HELP ASAP Treating Burns

We ended up losing 121 animals in the fire itself, cows/calves/heifers, rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep, our horse. They were only able to save 53 of our cows, 8 baby goats, and 12 of the hens (initially we thought only 5 but have found 7 more that had taken refuge in the garage & at the neighbors). Our family is devastated, all of our animals have names and my sister can tell who their parents were and when they were born. Of the 53 cows we saved we've lost 7 due to complications from smoke inhalation/shock/pneumonia (from being sprayed down with the fire hoses in below zero temps). We have them all in a temporary barn that the neighbors have donated the use of until we can rebuild. We are so thankful for all the animals that have made it, they are being very spoiled.

How devastating. The photos are truly terrifying. I am so sorry for the losses. Although recovery from the fire will be a long road, you and your family will rebuild and overcome the destruction.

My dad said something to me a few years ago when I was having a rough time, he said "We'll get through this just like we've gotten through everything else, as a family" and I know it's true but when I had to tell me sons (all 3 have special needs) that 2 of their pet cows and our ducks which were wintering at the barn are gone it's hard to remember that we've weathered many other storms and made it through.

My deepest condolences on the loss of life.I truly have no words to express the depth of my compassion, but you will get through this deep pain and will go on to rebuild your life and the life of your family,

Try not to dwell on the animals that were lost, for they have now gone on and have taken with them the love you and your family have for them, this is a very powerful love and will withstand for all eternity.

Focus on all the animals that were saved, for they are like a phoenix rising from the ashes of devastation/despair ready to begin anew with you and your family on this journey of life.

Life is hard and often filled with so much despair, but the gift of humanity is our ability to overcome even the most difficult odds,we are a strong race and have proven throughout our existence that we will not crumble, but will rise up to meet the challenges of life and overcome all obstacles even if we have to fight every step of the way.

The compassion and love from fellow humans will give you the strength to go on,we all give this gift to you!

This is in memory of the 121 lives that were lost,we mourn this loss with you. Sweet dreams beloved pets, each and everyone of you will never be forgotten, but will live on in our memories.

~Mia
