Background: two Muscovy females hatched 25 eggs together. Oreo viciously attacked mama so I separated them. Attempted to give oreo half the babies but all she did was attack me then attack and trample the ducklings i managed to give her. Removed ducklings put oreo with the drake and other female. Separated mama and ducklings. They are now 5 weeks old.

While separated from mama and ducklings oreo did anything and everything to get to the ducklings. She also refused to allow my other female to leave the coop and would constantly chase/peck her. Last week I put everyone together in their new coop/run (mama had stopped mothering) oreo took over mothering and everything aside from a few pecks here and there seemed fine. The last day or so Oreo would chase Mama and attack her but stopped the second she saw me. Today they were all fine (or so I thought) I ran a few errands and came back to blood on my drake mama and oreo. Donald mustve gotten it head bobbing over mama as he tends to do. Oreo had blood all over her mouth and mamas face is all torn up.

I removed mama cleaned her up let her relax a little in a cage separated Oreo in her own pen and put mama back with ducklings drake and other female and locked them in for the night. I can not keep oreo contained in the pen nor can I catch her to put her in the separate coop at this point.

There has been NO reason for these attacks mama is mellow calm and laid back does not try to mother babies. She doesnt even seem to fight back with Oreo just runs from her.

What do I do?! Im so fed up with Oreo im seriously debating having duck dinner. Why is she doing this and what do I do at this point please help! Sorry for any errors I am on my phone

I have zero experience with broody ducks and even less with Muscovy. I think 5 weeks is way to young to have ducklings around other ducks without a mom protecting them. I think you need to find a way to keep them apart for a while and so slow introductions again.@Miss Lydia do you have any ideas?

I will try to find a solution to the housing situation. I kept 17 ducklings that I am going to butcher. They out grew their brooder coop/run and needed a bigger place and I thought itd be best to put all in at once since it is a "neutral" new place. The other ducks (as far as ive observed) dont bother with the ducklings. Donald gives one or two a peck once in a while but other than that they all pick their own spots in the runs and chill out. And at this point they dont really have a mother to protect them. Oreo doesnt go after Donald if he pecks a duckling and didnt go after our rabbit that got into the run. The only time she gets bent out of shape is toward Mama, my husband or I.
