Two days ago one of my buffs got out of her run and was attacked by a large dog. He didn't bring blood but she is missing some feathers and favoring her left leg. We just separated her from the rest of the flock and have her in a smaller coop temporarily. Tonight I noticed that she has diarrhea and a small patch of poop on her backside. What should I do?

She sounds okay. I think if he didn't draw blood she is going to be totally fine. Keep an eye on her, but it doesn't sound like her leg is a serious issue. Can you post a video of her walking so I can see how bad the limp is?

Her limp is better tonight than it was last night but I can tell she's still in pain. I'm as concerned about the diarrhea as I am about her limp. The video will have to wait til morning. I'm a newbie here but I think I can do it.

Check her over well for any punctures, if they don't bleed they are especially prone to getting infected. Chickens generally have amazing recuperative powers - if they do not stay in shock, and are watched for signs of infection.

Thank you all for your well wishes. Slinky is doing much better today with no noticeable limp. She even jumped down off the deck about 13 inches to root around in the grass and then jumped back up to get back on the deck. I do think she is still in pain because she doesn't walk a whole lot and when she does it is very slowly. And best of all her diarrhea is a little bit better. We were able to clean her backside up with the use of a spray bottle and a little bit of water. I don't think she's ready to rejoin the flock because she was avoiding them tonight. I checked her over really good as you instructed and I did not see any injuries or bruising. Is there something else I should be looking for? Thank y'all again for all your help.
