I am a new chicken owner. The kindergarten class at the school I work at recently hatched chicks and I am now raising them. One of the chicks seems to have an infected anus. There is clear/white discharge coming out of the anus and all of the plumage under the chick is wet and matted, I'm assuming from the discharge. I wash it with warm water daily and apply an antibiotic but I don't know if it is getting any better. I have not seen its feces and it is always standing away from the others shaking slightly and seemingly trying to sleep. Should I move it away from the others? Anyone have an idea of what it is or could be? What should I do?
any advice please
This is what it looks like
and... it will not lay down to sleep it either stands or trys to perch on top of the others to keep the butt up
