I am a first time hatching mommy here....that will be obvious when I tell you what I did. I am incubating 12 eggs in a Lyons Transparent Hen, an antique.
Several of my eggs had started to pip. I noticed one egg was pipping face down and I thought he would not be able to get out being pinned against the floor of the incubator. I lifted the edge of the bator and turned him. When I turned him I felt a tug and realized he was stuck to the bottom of the bator and when I turned the egg there was blood coming from the hole that now existed in the shell. This is at the small end of the shell and I can see a little foot sticking out of the hole. Is there hope for this little guy? WHAT DO I DO? I am panicked.
I also have lifted the bator several times...once to help a chick that hatched and had fallen between the bator and the water pan. I am afraid of shrink wrapping them but wondering if I should do anything with this bleeding egg. Let me post a picture of it....

She has opened her eyes and seems fairly lively.
