I believe my hen has botulism. All the symptoms... paralysis of leg and wing. Toxin seems to be affecting her bowel. Tummy now swollen w gas, can’t seem to push. Found her eating maggots on a dead rotting magpie. NOOO! I’ve diligently nursed her and massaged her bloated belly to get gas and poop out. She’s been alive 5 days. Has energy. Semis pissed she’s paralyzed. I’d be too. She’s eating... until today. Looks like she’s trying to lay an egg on top of it all. I try to help, warm baths, massaging. She pushes best she can auntie she collapses exhausted. She just lays there softly panting w a high pitch squeak. It’s heartbreaking. Any advice? I feel like she’s doomed, but she’s trying S0 hard. My heart breaks.
