For now, without hens you should probably keep both of them so they have company, they shouldn’t fight too much (at least not viciously, they might have the occasional peck/play fight with each other) since they don’t have hens to fight over, and then when you get some hens reassess the situation/get rid of the cockerel you don’t want as much.
