Yes that is bumble foot. Many people will try to soak feet in epsom salts or Tricide Neo which you can do first. But really, I don't have time or patients for that treatment, so I usually do the surgery. They sell very good disposable scalpels at Tractor Supply in the goat/cattle section. Get some vet wrap, and cut strips. Have some gauze, antibiotic ointment, some betadine or hibiclens, paper towel, tweezers, and a towel for your assistant to wrap the chicken up in. Pus in the infected foot pad will usually come out as a waxy core after much squeezing. Here is a good link with a video about bumble foot:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I was really beginning to over react, our chickens have never had anything this serious before!

Gotcha!

Good luck. Some cases respond well to the surgery alone. I'm dealing with one that required 5 surgeries over a 4 week period
700

and a week of penicillin shots!!! I hope
I've got it!!! Nasty stuff

Well we are on our way to go get the supplies to do the surgery and I have done some research I think we are ready wish us luck...

When time permits give us an update....wishing you well!

Here's a YouTube video on how they did the 'surgery' on it...might help!
