Yesterday, I cleaned out my coop replaced the hay with pine pellets. I had a hard time getting my girls to go in the coop last night and this morning I had to force them off their roost to get them out. They act as if they don't want to touch the floor. One is still in there. Is this normal behavior when you change? Should I clean it out and go back to hay??? Don't want to stress them out.

As you've just figured out, chickens HATE change.

New nest box - it's obviously the box of doom. New roost - it might as well be made of pythons. New type of bedding - probably made of toxic lava or something. That must be where they came up with Chicken Little's "The sky is falling" thing...they panic over anything new...

Yes, give them a couple of days to adjust. You might also sit down on the floor and sprinkle a little scratch or other treat about you...but even without that they'll brave it within a few days.
