I checked on my 4 remaining eggs last night that my bantam cochon is laying on and noticed one had a slight crack on it's side it. I put it back since it didn't show any signs of blood or ruptured membranes. Ive been having problems with mama crushing her eggs so i didnt have much hope. I just checked back on it and found this. I'm a first timer so wasn't sure what to think. I decided to candle it and as I picked it up I could feel a rhythmic tapping and saw the chick moving around through the crack. Is this going to be a problem with the placement of the pipping? The air cell was last candled a few days ago so I'm hoping it dipped down prior to pipping. It has already externally pipped so I'm hoping all is well. And don't worry, I placed the egg back under mama and I'm not handling it anymore. Just observing from a distance. I'm so excited as this will be my first success at hatching and just don't want anything to go wrong.
I've had lots of chicks hatch from this position, even though they missed their aircell. looks like you should have a baby in a few days. ^u^
