Its been 24 hours since this chick has piped. I piped at the wrong end, but its a big crack, no action since, yesterday it peeped loud all day, today nothing. It piped a day early and was the first to do so. I have 6 more that have piped and one hatched. My thought is to open the bator, help it a little, and place a warm dish towel in there in trade to increase humidity.? Any thoughts?

It is probably absorbing the yolk. I would let it alone to do it's own thing.
I had one do that, it pipped upside down and waited over a day to come out, and was STILL weak when it came out. I suspect bad genetics played a role, but I'm glad that I didn't try to help him out any earlier!!!!

Is the egg laying down or in a carton? Put it flat on the floor of the bator if it's not already.

I always leave any that pip the wrong end a little longer- I have found that when I do help, They havent absorbed the yolk completely. It seems they usually take a bit longer. I always thought it might have to do with having less room to move around in the egg?? But not really sure if that really is the case. It just made sense to me to think that.
